KUKA robot backup and restore method

Create Date: 2024-8-30 12:03:23|Source: KUKA

When a backup is required:

1. System failure;

2. Hardware collapse.

Significance of backup:

1. Save the procedures made at that time;

2. The user can prevent misoperation and deletion of the program;

3. Let the system work from scratch to prevent secondary commissioning or equipment.

                               KUKA robot backup and restore method

There are three ways to restore backup:

1.Wvs: Items handled by Wov, including equipment and programs.

*WOV/Packet Backup: Clean system for the controller from scratch.

Backup restoration:

Wov software operation: based on KLI network port/KSI network port, the debugging PC is connected to the control cabinet.

2. SmartHMI menu to operate the packet file:

Menu→ Files→ Archives→ USB (Control Cabinet) → Everything/Usage/System Data/Log Data/KrcDiag.

Use: refers to the program code;

System data: refers to the data file of system equipment;

Log data: the log file generated when the operation is running.

Everything: refers to all of the above;

KrcDiag: This is used by Kuka to check the robot's pre-history operation data (this item is also used as the basis for post-sales review).

Backup restoration:

Menu→ file → restoration→ USB (control cabinet) → everything/usage/system data.

Note: The U disk can be plugged into the control cabinet or SmartPad, but it is not recommended to plug it directly into the SmartPad.

3. System image (system backup), when the system collapses or the hard disk is damaged, the system can be restored to the next backup.

Image file of the software for KUKA SSD operation:

(1) Wim format files processed by KUKA USB flash drive;

(2) GHOST software processes GHO files;

(3) The tib file of Acronis True image.

Next

(1) Pass the Q1 switch to completely power off the control cabinet;

(2) Plug in the U disk on the KPC;

(3) Q1 power-on control cabinet PC active operation backup or recovery;

(4) After the operation, the control cabinet will be actively shut down.

Tips:

1. Try not to open and edit the backed-up files, as tightening from scratch may lead to recovery failure;

2. Watch out for USB flash drive viruses;

3. In the equipment debugging stage of the project, before each change of equipment or program, make a backup of the Wov or compact package file, and set the corresponding version of the backup (the program version clarifies the log);

4. Control cabinet system: when the robot is first powered on, the original version of the system is backed up first, and when the project is accepted, the final version of the system is backed up for later after-sales;

5. Regarding the operation of the control cabinet system, it is not recommended to remove the hard disk to operate with the GHOST method, which may lead to the burning of the external PC / damage to the hard disk of the control cabinet.
