Since its launch, Pilz's flagship product, the configurable and safe small controller PNOZmulti, has been impressed by users for its robustness, flexibility and ease of operation.
PNOZmulti Configurator is a configuration tool for the safe small controller PNOZmulti, which allows users to easily create safety circuits on their PC and supports project design, configuration, documentation and commissioning. Pilz is constantly updating the configuration software to maintain the best user experience. Now that version 11.2 of PNOZmulti Configurator has been released, let's take a look at the new features!
Key-in-pocket solution
The small controller PNOZmulti 2 and the reader unit PITreader are combined with RFID technology to prevent unauthorized restarts. Three new functional modules in the software tool enable users to implement secure access and restart management of plants and machines. All login keys are stored in the list of user programs, and the machine will not be restarted until all keys have been logged out. The key may not remain in the PITreader when entering or leaving the factory, thus avoiding tampering with the program. The Blind Spot module requires that areas of the plant that are not in view be inspected prior to any restart. Key in Pocket's technology not only improves work safety, but also optimizes workflows, increases productivity, and brings convenience to people in the field.
The stand-alone base unit PNOZ m C0 is equipped with a safety key
The proposed new Machinery Ordinance (successor to the Machinery Directive) requires the establishment of security mechanisms to prevent access to equipment data. Safety features have already been taken into account in PNOZ m C0. PNOZmulti 2 is therefore ready for the future
Analog values for safe monitoring
The safe analogue input module PNOZ m EF 4AI has two new function modules when configuring the module program. The Differentiation module records the change in the simulated value over a certain period of time. If you want to monitor whether a value is moving within a defined upper and lower bounds, you can use the Ramp module. If a value exceeds or falls below these limits – plus a tolerance – PNOZmulti 2 initiates the appropriate remedial action. Whether monitoring level, temperature, pressure, speed or other values, the process will be safe.
There are up to 84 standard outputs on the base unit PNOZ m B1
The user can connect up to 6 output modules PNOZ m ES 14 DO to the base unit PNOZ m B1. As a result, the cost of activating indicators, signal lights, illuminated buttons, and many other standard tasks is greatly reduced.
As of version 11.0, the "basic" functional version of the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator is now available without licensing fees, and the software can be downloaded free of charge and used in automation projects. Pilz has always been committed to protecting people and machines.

Pilz: Can safety gate switches be used in series?
Recently, the "core shortage problem" has been plaguing major industrial control brand manufacturers, from safety PLCs and inverters, to safety door locks, etc., generally because of the lack of chips, resulting in longer delivery times, and some even unable to deliver the goods at all. This has created a "difficult problem" for the friends in the electrical design department.

Pilz: Guard locking and safety interlocks in functional safety
In machinery safety, if it is an access door that prevents entry into the hazardous movement area, it is usually necessary to use a safety interlock switch to realize the "linkage" between the access door and the movement of the hazardous equipment, and when the access door is opened, the dangerous movement stops. In some cases, it is also necessary to prevent the access door from being hit.

Peel magnetic relay – the difference between a transistor and a relay output PLC
1. The overload capacity of the transistor is less than the overload capacity of the relay
In general, in the case of a large inrush current (e.g., bulbs, inductive loads, etc.), the transistor overload capability is smaller, and more derating is required.
2. Under the condition of rated operation, the relay has the number of actions ...

Peel magnetic relays - what are the connection methods of relays?
1. 3-pin relay wiring
The common 3-pin relay is the car horn relay.
No. 1 is the contact terminal, which connects the load;
No. 2 is the common terminal between the contact and the coil, which is connected to the power supply;
No. 3 is the coil terminal, which connects the button switch (such as the horn on the steering wheel).

Peel magnetic relay - relay common faults and solutions
First, the contact is loose and cracks
The contact is the electrical touch part of the relay to complete the switching load, and the contact of some products is riveted and pressed, and its primary disadvantage is that the contact is loose, the contact cracking or the scale azimuth error is too large. This will affect the touch reliability of the relay.
