The digital centralized control platform based on ABB Ability™ MOM provides customers with visualization of production and operation data and empowers data decision-making
ABB's system integration services enable the linkage between various systems, helping to significantly improve operational and management efficiency and improve safety in production
ABB recently signed a contract with Yunnan Dawei Coking Co., Ltd. to provide a digital centralized control platform and system integration services based on ABB Ability™ MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management) for the construction of its "Four-Zone Separation"1 dispatching management platform, integrating the control system, security system, integrated communication system, personnel positioning system and video surveillance system scattered throughout the plant into the centralized control area (central control room) separated from the production operation area for centralized monitoring and management.
Data from various systems is integrated in the ABB digital centralized control platform and displayed in the form of visual charts, which greatly improves data visibility. Business operations and managers are able to make faster, more informed decisions with data, which can greatly improve the efficiency and safety of production operations.
The digital centralized control platform integrates DCS control system, SIS safety instrumented system, GDS toxic and harmful gas detection system, F&G fire and gas alarm system, integrated communication system, mobile control ball, as well as personnel positioning system and video surveillance system, and realizes real-time linkage between various systems. For example, when a dangerous situation occurs, the alarm information of the underlying hardware equipment in the factory will automatically enter the centralized control platform, and the centralized control platform will automatically associate the camera near the equipment, and transmit the picture of the on-site situation back to the centralized control platform, so that the operators of the centralized control center can understand the on-site situation in time and make quick judgments and treatments. The linkage with the personnel positioning system can ensure the implementation of personnel positioning in the centralized control center and ensure the safety of personnel in dangerous situations.

At the beginning of 2021, Yunnan Province issued the "Technical Guidance on the Separation of the Four Zones of Hazardous Chemicals Production and Storage Enterprises", requiring the four areas of hazardous chemicals production and storage enterprises to implement technical separation and remediation work in the administrative office area, logistics support area, centralized control area and production operation area to further reduce the risk of accidents and reduce casualties.
