Weld tracking is to detect the deviation of the weld in real time during welding, adjust the welding path and welding parameters, and ensure the reliability of welding quality.

Due to the existence of processing errors in the workpiece (size difference between workpieces, preparation of grooves, etc.), clamping accuracy, and thermal deformation during welding, welding robots working in the teach-and-reproduce method often have a decrease in welding quality due to deviations between the weld seam and the teach-in track. Therefore, weld stalking is an important element to ensure the welding quality of welding robots.

The sensor is a key part of the weld active tracking system. Its function is to detect the orientation and shape information of the weld and convert it into a signal, and the control system processes the signal, and controls the active adjustment mechanism to adjust the orientation of the welding gun according to the detection results, and then completes the active tracking of the weld.
