ABB has launched a new GoFa™ cobot that sets a new standard with higher payloads, a larger working range and excellent repeatability.

Cat 3/PLd safety certified to work side-by-side with people.

Easy programming and rapid deployment further lower barriers to entry for first-time users, SMBs, and educators.

ABB has launched two new GoFaTM cobots, GoFa 10 and GoFa 12, which add new possibilities for more efficient cobot automation. With payloads of 10kg and 12kg, respectively, the cobots have excellent repeatability and can work closely with workers to accomplish more tasks, improving safety and productivity while addressing labor and skills shortages. The new GoFa cobots support easy and intuitive programming and can be quickly integrated into production environments, lowering the barrier to entry for first-time users, educators, and SMBs.

"Since the launch of the YuMi cobot in 2015, ABB has created an industry-leading cobot portfolio to meet the growing demand for safe and easy-to-use automation solutions to fill the gap in the skilled workforce," said Sicon Ma, President of ABB's Robotics Business Unit. "To meet the demand for cobots with higher payloads and a longer working range, our GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 cobots extend the benefits of automation to new industrial applications, even for first-time robot users," he added. ”

In addition to the increased load capacity, the GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 cobots can achieve tool center point (TCP) speeds of up to 2 m/s and a class-leading repeatability of up to 0.02 mm, which is twice as fast as other comparable solutions. At the same time, the IP67 rating of GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 protects against moisture and dust, extending the advantages of cobots with high speed and precision to new industrial applications, especially for automation-critical tasks such as machining, welding, material handling, polishing, and assembly. With a working range of up to 1.62m, which is 14% higher than comparable products, the GoFa 10 is large enough to cover US pallets, making it ideal for palletizing applications.
ABB expands GoFa™ cobot range
Lower the barrier to automation for first-time users and SMBs

The GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 cobots are intuitive and easy to program, deploy, and use, lowering the barrier to entry for first-time users and SMBs. Its guided programming and ABB's Wizard software greatly simplify setup, eliminating the need to write complex programming code, and even non-experts can quickly automate applications by operating simple graphical blocks.

The ABB SafeMove app is pre-installed on the teach pendant on the new GoFa, which features features such as safe speed limiting, stationary monitoring and orientation monitoring, enabling close collaboration between robots and factory workers without the need for bulky protective fences.

The GoFa 10 and GoFa 12 cobots are powered by the OmniCoreTM controller. Thanks to ABB's TrueMove and QuickMove technologies, OmniCore brings industry-leading motion control, combined with GoFa's intelligent torque and position sensors, to ensure the smooth motion required for high-precision finishing, tightening, assembly and testing tasks. In addition, the OmniCore features energy-saving features including energy recuperation and regenerative braking, which reduce power consumption by 20% and improve sustainability.

Take advantage of innovations in ABB's robotics ecosystem

In response to the increasing diversity of automation applications, ABB has launched the ABB Robotics Ecosystem Program. It incorporates third-party accessories such as grippers, cameras and custom software that are compatible with ABB's product range, including the new GoFa cobot, making it easy for users to quickly innovate with the growing ABB robotics ecosystem.
