The transfer robot is a manipulator in actual operation, and the development of manipulator is because its positive role is increasingly known:

First, it can partially replace manual operation;

Second, it can follow a certain procedure, time and direction to complete the transmission and loading and unloading of the workpiece in accordance with the requirements of the production process;

Third, it can operate the necessary machinery and tools for welding and installation, and then greatly improve the working conditions of workers, significantly improve labor productivity, and accelerate the pace of completing industrial production mechanization and automation.

                           Handling robot classification - Kawasaki robot

The advantage of the transfer robot is that it can complete various expected tasks through programming, and has the respective advantages of man and machine in its own structure and function, especially reflecting artificial intelligence and adaptability. At present, the classification of transfer robots mainly includes the following:

1. Multi-joint robots

The multi-joint robot has flexible action, small motion inertia, strong versatility, can grasp the workpiece close to the machine base, and can bypass the obstacles between the machine body and the working machinery for operation.

2. T-type booster robot

The displacement of the T-type booster robot is completed by the guide rail, which is more suitable for occasions with small operating space. Equipped with an air storage tank, it can continue to use a cycle in the case of air failure, and when the air pressure drops to a certain extent, it activates the self-locking function to prevent the workpiece from descending. There is also a safety system so that the operator cannot release the workpiece during the transfer process or when the workpiece is not placed on a safety surface.

3. Hard-arm power-assisted robot

Hard-arm power-assisted robots cannot use pneumatic counterbalance cranes or soft-rope power-assisted robots when there is torque generation, and hard-arm power-assisted robots must be selected. It is possible to complete workpieces with a maximum height of up to 500 kg, a radius of up to 3000 mm, and a height increase of up to 2500 mm.

Currently, there are more than 100,000 transfer robots in use in the world, which are widely used in machine tool loading and unloading, automatic production lines of stamping machines, automatic installation lines, palletizing transfers, automatic transfer of containers, etc. Some developed countries have formulated the maximum limit of manual transfer, and those that exceed the limit must be completed by transfer robots.
