Applications for Solid State Relays

(1) The recommended value of the foreign SSR trigger signal (i.e., the current through the light-emitting tube) is 10mA DC, and the recommended value of the domestic SSR trigger signal is 12-25mA DC.

(2) Multiple SSRs can use the same trigger signal, which is often used in the control of three-phase AC loads. For example, if two SSRs are connected in series in two phases and the other phase is not controlled, in this case, the two SSRs must be switched on and off at the same time, and the same trigger signal can be used to ensure simultaneous operation. At this time, the trigger circuits of the two SSRs are driven in series, and each SSR is considered according to the voltage drop of 4V, and 12V can drive three.

(3) When the commutation of the three-phase motor is controlled by SSR, four SSRs can be connected to the forward and reverse circuit, and the other phase is not controlled, but special attention should be paid to the fact that the commutation must be allowed after the motor is stopped, so as not to turn on the SSR that is being turned on before it is turned off.

(4) When using SSR, it is also necessary to pay attention to protection, and when using a fast fuse, it is recommended to use 1.2 times of the rated working current.

(5) The AC working voltage of the solid state relay is 220V and 380V, and the AC working current is 1A, 3A, 5A, 10A and other specifications.

The driving signal of the solid state relay usually comes from the thermostat or the phase shift trigger, if you want to be proficient in the use of the solid state relay, it is generally used in the thermostat or phase shift trigger.

Analysis of the application status of solid-state relays

Single-phase and three-phase solid-state relays feature DC input control, AC zero-crossing turn-on, and zero-crossing turn-off output. In the operation of current control, single-phase/three-phase solid state relays can be activated from zero voltage, and can reduce the impact of radiation on the grid by reducing the di/dt ratio, and can also ensure stability during start-up. In addition, it can still protect solid state relays and other consumer appliances by reducing the back EMF of the load in the event of a zero-voltage shutdown.

As a new type of non-contact switching device composed of microelectronic circuits, discrete electronic devices and power electronic power devices, solid-state relay has the characteristics of high reliability, long life, little influence by electromagnetic interference, fast conversion speed and low input power. Compared with traditional electromechanical relays, solid-state relays have full advantages, which ensures their application value in various industries.
