The detection object of this proximity switch is not limited to metal conductors, but also can be insulated liquid or powdery objects, when detecting objects with a lower dielectric constant of ε, the multi-turn potentiometer (located at the rear of the switch) can be adjusted clockwise to increase the inductive sensitivity, and the general adjustment potentiometer makes the capacitive proximity switch operate at the position of 0.7-0.8Sn.

When the object to be measured is a conductive object or an object that can be fixed on a piece of metal, the eddy current proximity switch is generally selected because of its high response frequency, good anti-environmental interference performance, wide application range and low price. This type of switch has a low response frequency, but good stability. The influence of environmental factors should be considered when installing. If the object to be measured is a magnetic permeable material or the magnet is buried in the object to be measured in order to distinguish it from the object moving with it, a Hall proximity switch should be used, which has the lowest price. In the case of good environmental conditions and no dust pollution, photoelectric proximity switch can be used. When the photoelectric proximity switch operates, there is almost no effect on the measured object. Therefore, it is widely used in demanding fax machines and tobacco machinery. In the anti-theft system, pyroelectric proximity switches, ultrasonic proximity switches, and microwave proximity switches are commonly used for automatic doors. Sometimes, in order to improve the reliability of identification, the above proximity switches are often used in combination. No matter what kind of proximity switch is selected, attention should be paid to the requirements of various indicators such as working voltage, load current, response frequency, and detection distance.

For different materials of detection body and different detection distance, different types of proximity switches should be selected to make them have a high performance-to-price ratio in the system, for which the following principles should be followed in the selection:

1.1. When the detector body is a metal material, a high-frequency oscillating proximity switch should be selected, which is the most sensitive to the detection of iron-nickel and A3 steel detectors. For aluminum, brass and stainless steel detectors, the detection sensitivity is low.

1.2. When the detection body is a non-metallic material, such as; For wood, paper, plastic, glass and water, capacitive proximity switches should be used.

1.3. When metal bodies and non-metals are to be detected and controlled at a distance, photoelectric proximity switches or ultrasonic proximity switches should be selected.

1.4. When the detection body is metal, if the detection sensitivity is not high, a low-cost magnetic proximity switch or Hall proximity switch can be selected.
