Partnered with Green.TV to celebrate electric vehicles on September 9, 2020
Initiated by ABB and Green.TV, the inaugural World Electric Vehicle Day will be a day of global EV appreciation. Current and potential EV drivers, as well as local transport authorities and fleet operators, will be encouraged to recognise the critical role they play in driving the transition to sustainable road transport and a zero-emission future for all.
The day will be an annual institution that will also recognize the important role that reliable and fast charging infrastructure, grid reinforcement and the integration of renewable energy generation must play in achieving a truly sustainable transport ecosystem.

With ABB's unrivalled expertise in electrification and global leadership in EV charging solutions, ABB has sold more than 14,000 DC fast chargers in more than 80 countries, making it the perfect industry partner for World EV Day. ABB recently received the 2019 Global Electric Vehicle Leader Award for its role in supporting the international adoption of sustainable mobility solutions.

World Electric Vehicle Day will work with other partners and leaders in the field of electric vehicles to make the first World Electric Vehicle Day the beginning of the international mobile movement.
Other partners include Mahindra Electric Mobility, which manufactures electric vehicles and related technologies, Liberty Charge, which helps provide electricity and connectivity infrastructure for street electric vehicle charging in residential areas in the United Kingdom, and Volta Trucks, the manufacturer of all electric trucks.
