Yaskawa made its debut at the AMB - Robotics Innovation Trade Fair

As a long-standing and reliable supplier of automated metalworking solutions, Yaskawa will be exhibiting at AMB for the first time. Possible applications for the company's Motoman robots include tool handling, machining and stacking workpieces, and machine loading. At booth 6D50 in Hall 6, we will be following the latest developments.

The most striking exhibit at Yaskawa's booth will be a showroom with two MotoMINI robots moving at lightning speed. With a range of 350 mm, the new MotoMINI is the smallest model in the Motoman robot portfolio, offering a load capacity of 500 grams. As a lightweight, high-speed robot, the compact 6-axis robot combines a fast cycle rate with a high repeatability of 0.03 mm. It has been specially developed for handling and assembling small workpieces. The control unit is also small and lightweight: the MotoMINI features the new Motoman yrc1000 micro-high-performance controller. This handheld programmer is the lightest in its class, at only 730 grams, ergonomic and clearly laid out.

Further development and new programmers

In addition, Yaskawa will exhibit an enhanced version of the Motoman HC10 cobot, as well as a next-generation programming pendant. With the model variant HC10DT (DT stands for "Direct Teaching"), programming can optionally be carried out directly via the robot arm.

This "simple teaching" can be achieved by attaching function keys on the robot arm. The HC10DT can also be easily programmed and operated with the new Smart Pendant Programmer. The latter requires the user to memorize less and less data, such as commands, values, and entire sequences of operations.

There are similar innovations in the MotoLogix software interface: the range of supported platforms now includes the standard EtherCAT. In addition to EtherCAT, integrated solutions based on POWERLINK, Ethernet/IP and PROFINET can still be implemented with MotoLogix. As a result, Yaskawa Motoman robots can be programmed and controlled quickly and simply in a standard IEC-61131 environment.
