Schneider circuit breakers are used to open and break communication loops. The arc extinguishing of the communication system is simple, but the arc extinguishing of the DC system is more difficult. Because the system is different and the arc extinguishing principle is different, there is a big difference in structure and performance between the communication circuit breaker and the DC circuit breaker. DC circuit breakers require the addition of additional arc extinguishing equipment to enhance arc extinguishing capacity compared to communication circuit breakers.

In principle, the communication circuit breaker should not be used in the DC circuit, whether it can be used in the DC, the key is whether the DC current can be blocked. It is mainly considered from the following aspects:

1. Communication current, when the contact is broken, there will be arcing, that is, the so-called "arc pulling phenomenon". When the current crosses zero, the arc will be calmed down quickly with the cooling effect of the arc extinguisher, so that the circuit will be blocked. The contacts that intercept the current are of course important, but what really matters is how the arc is blocked. Because of the high temperature and ablation caused by the arc, it is the key to determining the life of the contact.

2. DC current is not simply blocked, which means that the DC arc is not simply blocked. The reason is that the DC arc does not have a "zero-crossing" state, so although there is a cooling of the arc extinguishing cover, it is not simply to block the arc. The moment of the arc is the key to determining the life of the contact.

3. The DC current of the communication circuit breaker is only one-tenth of the original. The DC current through the communication circuit breaker is smaller, and when it is broken, although the arc time is long, it is still relatively simple to extinguish the arc. Naturally, the contact system has the same longevity as it was when it was communicated.

4. Whether the communication circuit breaker can be used for DC current is not only whether the contact system can block the DC current, but also to ensure the action life of the contact system. If the contact system can only be disconnected a few times before hanging, such a circuit breaker cannot be used.

There are also DC circuit breakers, and their internal contacts and arc extinguishing systems are basically the same as communication. Only the manufacturer calibrates according to the amount of DC current. So what you see is a circuit breaker with a large volume, and the "extra DC current" passing through is not large, and that's why.
