In life and production, leakage switches are often used. But the inverter is not used much at some times. Most manufacturers often use leakage switches as the main switch when installing switches in the workshop. When the frequency conversion control is elected, the problem comes out, and the leakage switch always trips after a little moment.
When the machine is equipped with a frequency converter, the leakage should be removed or the molded case circuit breaker should be selected separately to avoid the switch tripping. Cause malfunction!
The leakage switch with a leakage current of 30MA can not be used to protect personal safety, and the main reason is that the leakage current of the inverter will lead to the malfunction of the inverter. IF IT IS NECESSARY TO INSTALL A LEAKAGE SWITCH, CHOOSE A LEAKAGE CURRENT OF 100MA TO AVOID FIRE CAUSED BY DAMAGE TO THE LINE INSULATION.
When using inverters, leakage protectors must not be used. This is a major criterion for the use of frequency converters.
Some customers choose the corresponding leakage protector for the inverter when using the inverter. The result is that the inverter moves together, the leakage protector acts, and the system cannot operate at all.
The principle of the leakage protector is that the zero sequence current is zero. When using an inverter, the zero sequence current cannot be zero.
The output side of the inverter is a PWM wave, and there is a capacitive effect of a long cable between the motor cable and the ground, which is more pronounced when using a shielded cable. When the inverter is operating, the capacitor is charging and discharging, and the current flows into the ground through the capacitor, and flows back to the inverter from the grounding wire on the incoming side to form a current loop. If a leakage protector is used on the incoming side, it will operate and cut off the system.
So, don't equip your inverter with a leakage protector. If you want to ensure safety, you just need to do a good job of grounding the equipment.
