Industrial security has become an integral part of automation, but with new requirements and specifications, manufacturers, integrators, and operators are faced with the question of how their employees can meet the new challenges. In response, Pilz has launched a new security training course that can help trainees become experts in information security.
How can machines be protected and safety measures implemented in practice in accordance with the requirements of the code? The safety standard IEC 62443 "Industrial Communication Networks – Network and System Information Security" is currently the best reference for plant operators and equipment manufacturers to solve this problem. That's why Pilz's new training course "CESA – Certified Expert in Automated Information Security" focuses on this standard. CESA is now certified by TÜV NORD for everything from risk analysis to the safe operation of the machine.
Information security, from start to finish
Participants will learn about the specific information security requirements of Operational Technology (OT) and how they differ from General Information Technology (IT). Another key area is to interpret the threat landscape and potential defense strategies. Participants gain in-depth expertise in basic topics such as access control, the use of technology to improve cybersecurity, and organizational measures to avoid security risks.
Legal principles and normative requirements are also the focus of the course. Experienced Pilz trainers will impart knowledge of machinery safety and information safety based on long-term practical experience and participation in international standards committees. After two days of training, participants will gain comprehensive knowledge and be competent in information security issues in industrial automation systems.
Develop security experts
Hartmut Paulus, Senior Manager International Customer Support at Pilz, sees qualification as an important step in developing safety experts: "Our new CESA qualification provides a detailed overview of information security issues in automation. Take this training to prepare yourself for automated information security: from the basics of regulatory requirements and risk assessment to technical and organizational security measures in an industrial environment.

Peel magnetic relay - the selection principle of electromagnetic relays
1. Selection of relay coil application power supply
Under normal circumstances, most of the relays of direct current are selected in the circuit design, and the types of power supplies used in relays can also be considered according to the characteristics of the control circuit. Secondly, it is necessary to think about the power consumed by the relay, and assume that the relay coil is supplied ...
