In terms of functionality and cost-effectiveness, it is more suitable for customer needs of small and medium-sized security applications.
"Similarities and differences" between PNOZ m B0 and PNOZ m B0.1
Similar to PNOZ m B0, the base module body of PNOZ m B0.1 offers 20 safe digital inputs that can be freely combined, of which 8 safety input points can also be used as non-safe semiconductor outputs via software configuration. The body is capable of providing four safety semiconductor outputs, each up to ISO 13849-1 PL e and ISO 61508 SIL CL3. In addition, there are four test pulses on the main body that can be used to monitor the safety input loop, and these four test pulses can be configured as non-safety semiconductor outputs through software configuration. In terms of dimensions, PNOZ m B0.1 and PNOZ m B0 are identical. Chip-card removable program storage facilitates future hardware exchange. The backlit LCD display on the front shows the faults and status of the operating PNOZ m B0.1 module, as well as custom text that can be configured by the user software.
In contrast to PNOZ m B0, only one safe I/O module can be extended to the right side of the base module of PNOZ m B0.1 (not supported by the speed monitoring module), e.g. PNOZ m EF 16DI, PNOZ m EF 4DI4DOR, PNOZ m EF 2DOR, PNOZ m EF 4DI4DORD, PNOZ m EF 8DI4DO, PNOZ m EF 8DI2DOT. On the left, up to 4 safety connection modules, 1 fieldbus module, and 1 ETH or RS232 interface module can be expanded as required.
PNOZmulti Configurator is still available as PNOZmulti Configurator, but v11.0 onwards and can be used with all common security software function blocks. PNOZmulti Configurator is known to be very user-friendly, with a graphical interface, drag-and-drop mouse operation and menu-based selection, which makes it easy to implement professional security programming even without much programming experience. The extensive fieldbus interface modules enable PNOZ m B0.1 to easily exchange data with external third-party devices, and to easily access and display all types of diagnostic data from the safety system, which currently supports protocols such as Profibus, CANopen, CC-Link, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Profinet and Powerlink.
The features of PNOZ m B0.1 at a glance
Only one safe I/O module can be expanded on the right, making it suitable for small and medium-sized applications
Commonly used safety functions such as emergency stop buttons, safety doors, safety light curtains, etc. can be monitored
The 45mm outline width saves the installation space of the electrical cabinet, and the built-in illuminated LCD screen increases the flexibility of diagnosis
The accompanying software tool PNOZmulti Configurator saves a lot of planning and engineering time thanks to its user-friendly interface, rich function blocks, graphical operation and menu-based selection
A wide range of third-party fieldbus interfaces are supported, such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Profibus, etc
For users, the launch of the basic module PNOZ m B0.1 enriches the choice of safety controllers, and when the number of safety functions required by the device can be met using PNOZ m B0.1, the choice of PNOZ m B0.1 is obviously more cost-effective.

Pilz: Safety control solution for SIL4 at rail level crossings
On fully enclosed rail transit lines, viaducts or tunnels are usually used to avoid the impact of rail lines on the distance, while on non-fully enclosed rail transit lines, the plane intersection between the railway and the distance, that is, level crossings, is more common.
In the early stage, rail transit ...

Pilz: Guard locking and safety interlocks in functional safety
In machinery safety, if it is an access door that prevents entry into the hazardous movement area, it is usually necessary to use a safety interlock switch to realize the "linkage" between the access door and the movement of the hazardous equipment, and when the access door is opened, the dangerous movement stops. In some cases, it is also necessary to prevent the access door from being hit.

Pierre Switches – An introduction to the basics of safety switches
Features of the safety door switch:
The safety gate switch is composed of two independent parts: the switch body and the operating part of the switch. When the safety door is opened, the switch actuator is pulled out of the switch body and the normally closed contacts in the switch are disconnected by a mechanical rebound device. While...
