Because the current at the input and output ends of the inverter contains high-frequency components, the leakage current formed by the high-frequency components when the inverter is driven is greater than that when the grid power supply is supplied. Because there are many types of circuit breakers, in some cases, even if there is no problem with the insulation of the inverter wires and motors, there is still a possibility of malfunction due to leakage of high-frequency components. Therefore, the most likely reason is that the leakage current setpoint is too small or the harmonic component of the inverter is too large.

We can address this by taking the following countermeasures:

(1) Increase the sensitive current value of the leakage circuit breaker operation to a permissible level.

(2) Select a leakage circuit breaker with higher harmonic countermeasures.

(3) A zero-phase reactor is set between the power supply and the inverter to suppress the zero-phase current.

(4) Shorten the length of the wire between the inverter and the motor as much as possible, and try to keep the wire frame off the ground to reduce the floating capacitance and leakage current.

(5) When it is not possible to change the sensitive current value of the operation of the leakage circuit breaker, an insulated transformer is installed in the branch circuit and the circuit containing the frequency converter.

(6) Choose a wire with a small capacitance.
