Starting performance is a very important performance parameter of motor products. The large starting current of the motor is an unpreventable problem in the process of direct starting. The high current during the engine process has a great impact on both the power grid and the motor itself. Therefore, according to different working conditions and different series of motors, soft start is selected to start the motor.

                               Motor soft start mode – Reynolds frequency inverter

Soft starter is a motor control device that integrates soft start, soft stop, light load energy saving and a variety of maintenance functions. There are two main indicators of the starting performance of asynchronous motors, starting current multiple and starting torque multiple. The soft engine reduces the starting current and torque by changing the power supply voltage applied to the motor during the start-up process. The current-limiting feature of soft engine can effectively restrain the inrush current, prevent unnecessary shock torque and current impact on the distribution network, and effectively reduce the false triggering action of circuit breakers and contactors. Regarding the motor with frequent start and stop, it can effectively control the temperature rise of the motor, which greatly extends the life of the motor. At present, the soft starters widely used in engineering include liquid resistance soft start, solid-state soft start, magnetron soft start, high-voltage frequency conversion soft start, etc.

Soft start of wound motors

In the case of wire-wound motors, a special electrolyte is inserted into the rotor circuit of the wire-wound motor as a resistor. After adjusting the concentration of the electrolyte and changing the spacing between the two plates, the resistance value of the series resistance has been meeting the requirements of the mechanical characteristics of the motor for the series resistance value during the starting process, so that the motor can uniformly progress the speed with the maximum starting torque and the minimum starting current, and start smoothly. After starting, the rotor circuit is short-circuited, and the motor is started.

Solid-state soft-start

This type of engine can reduce the starting impulse current of the motor, reducing the impact on the power grid and the motor itself. Together, the mechanical impact of the mechanical load device on the motor is reduced, thereby extending the service life of the equipment and reducing breakdowns and downtime.

Magnetron soft start

It can make the inductance actively change from large to small in the predetermined time, and complete the soft start of the motor.

Inverter soft start

The inverter can be controlled by frequency conversion, which can complete the smooth start and speed change of the motor, with a wide range of speed regulation and high efficiency, and complete the soft start, overcurrent, overvoltage and overload maintenance functions of the communication asynchronous motor.
