Honeywell provides customers with a complete portfolio of hydrogen combustion solutions and specialized expertise in thermal processing applications
Houston, Texas, United States, March 14, 2022 – Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) announced the launch of its portfolio of hydrogen combustion solutions services to help commercial and industrial end users reduce their carbon footprint by leveraging hydrogen as an alternative fuel in thermal processes.
The launch of Honeywell's end-to-end product line comes at a time when organizations around the world are looking to develop or strengthen plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Switching to hydrogen-based fuels for thermal processing can help users meet their own carbon reduction targets, meet regulatory requirements, and avoid penalties for non-compliance.
Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and has broad application prospects for reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. When hydrogen is produced from renewable sources, it is expected to play a central role in the clean energy network of the future because it does not produce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, hydrogen is ubiquitous in industrial processes and is suitable for a wide range of applications as an ideal fuel.
Honeywell has developed and tested a broad portfolio of hydrogen-enabled industrial burners that provide clean heat for a wide range of heating equipment. Similarly, Honeywell's burner management and control systems, regulator valves, and safety shut-off valves have been evaluated and validated for hydrogen fuel applications to ensure safe start-stop, stop, and control of hydrogen combustion equipment.
At the same time, Honeywell continues to rely on the "Thermal IQ Drive" platform to drive the digitalization of the thermal energy industry. Thermal IQ connects thermal assets with the platform's powerful analytics capabilities to create an enterprise-grade digital thermal ecosystem. The platform allows users to monitor thermal system performance in real-time and estimate cost savings and emission reductions realized using blended fuels, including hydrogen.
