Common faults of SICK sensors

1. The pressure receiver transmitter cannot return to the zero position

The output of the SICK sensor does not change, and the output of the repressurized transmitter changes suddenly. Once the sensor is tightened, the sealing ring is compressed to the sensor pressure port to block the sensor. When pressure is applied, the pressure medium cannot enter, but when the pressure is high, the sealing ring suddenly opens and the pressure sensor is under pressure, which can be a problem with the pressure sensor seal. The way to eliminate this malfunction is to remove the sensor and directly check if the zero position is normal, if the zero position is normal, replace the seal and try again.

2. The comparison deviation between the SICK sensor and the pointer pressure gauge is large

The occurrence of deviation is a normal phenomenon, the normal deviation range can be determined, and one of the most common faults is the effect of the differential pressure transmitter installation position on the zero output. Due to the small measuring range of micro-differential pressure transmitters, the sensor elements in the transmitter affect the output of micro-differential pressure transmitters. When installed, the pressure-sensitive parts of the transmitter should be perpendicular to the direction of gravity. After installation, adjust the zero position to the standard value. The pressure rises, the sensor output does not increase In this case, you should first check if the pressure connection is leaking or blocked. If not, check the wiring method and power supply. If the power supply is OK, simply pressurize the output to see if the output changes, or to see if there is an output at the zero point of the sensor. If there is no change, the sensor is damaged, which could be a problem with the instrument or other parts of the overall system.

3. The output signal of the SICK sensor is unstable

This malfunction can be a problem with the stressor. The pressure source itself is unstable pressure, which may be due to the fact that the instrument or pressure sensor is not strong in anti-interference, the sensor itself vibrates seriously, and the sensor fails.

How Sick sensors work How Sick sensors work

SICK sensors are sensors that use a photoelectric element as a detection element. It first converts the measured change into a change in the optical signal, and then further converts the optical signal into an electrical signal with the help of an optoelectronic component. Photoelectric sensors are generally composed of three parts: light source, optical path and optoelectronic components.
