Sick Sensors – What are the precautions for the use of load cells?

1. The signal cable of the sensor should not be arranged in parallel with the strong current power line or control line (for example, do not place the sensor signal line in the same pipe as the strong power line and the control line). IF THEY MUST BE PLACED SIDE BY SIDE, THEN THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THEM SHOULD BE KEPT AT LEAST 50 CM, AND THE SIGNAL LINES SHOULD BE COVERED WITH METAL TUBES.

2. In any case, the power cord and the control line should be twisted together, the degree of closure is 50 rpm, if the sensor signal line needs to be extended, a special sealed cable junction box should be used. If this kind of junction box is not used, and the cable is directly connected with the cable (soldered termination), special attention should be paid to the sealing and moisture-proof, and the insulation resistance should be checked after connection, and the standard (2000-5000M) should be reached, and if necessary, the sensor should be re-calibrated.

3. If the signal cable is very long and the measurement accuracy is very high, the cable compensation circuit with relay amplifier should be considered.

4. All wires leading to or from the display circuit should be shielded cables. The connection and grounding point of the shielded wire should be reasonable. If it is not grounded through the mechanical frame, it is grounded externally, but the shield wires are not grounded after being connected to each other and are floating. Note: There are 3 sensors that are fully parallel and the sensors themselves are 4-wire, but they are replaced with 6-wire connections in the junction box.

5. The readout circuit of the sensor output signal should not be placed in the same box with the equipment that can produce strong interference (such as thyristors, contactors, etc.) and the equipment with considerable heat generation.

6. The electronic circuit used to measure the output signal of the weight sensor should be equipped with an independent power supply transformer as much as possible, and should not share the same main power supply with contactors and other equipment.

7. The load cell should be handled with care, especially the small-capacity sensor made of alloy aluminum elastomer, any impact and drop may cause great damage to its measurement performance. For large-capacity resistance strain gauge weight sensors, generally speaking, it has a large dead weight, so it is required to use appropriate lifting equipment (such as chain hoists, electric hoists, etc.) as much as possible when handling and installing.
