1. Different definitions:

A light sensor is generally a device that can sensitively sense light energy from ultraviolet light to infrared light and convert the light energy into an electrical signal.

Photoelectric sensors are sensors that use an optoelectronic element as a detection element. It first converts the measured change into a change in the optical signal, which is then further converted into an electrical signal with the help of an optoelectronic component.

2. The working principle is different:

Light sensor: It consists of a light projector and a light receiver. The light emitter focuses the light through the lens and then makes further switching and control. The light source of the projector varies according to various needs, such as general bulbs, red light, green LED, etc. The optical receiver receives the optical signal emitted by the projector and converts it into an electrical signal. Its main component is silicon crystal. Its properties can be divided into phototransistors, photodiodes, and photoresistors. Today, phototransistors are commonly used in optoelectronic products. Its advantages are high-speed switching function and good sensitivity.

Photoelectric sensor: The emitter is aimed at the target and emits a beam. The beams emitted are typically from semiconductor light sources, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), laser diodes, and infrared light-emitting diodes. The beam is emitted uninterruptedly, or the pulse width is changed.

Common units dB vs. dBm First of all, it is necessary to know that dB is a decibel and is defined as 10lg (output power/input power), that is, take the logarithmic value of two powers, for example, if an amplifier amplifies the signal power by 1000 times, it is converted to dB, then the gain is 30dB. We...
