Resistance is the fundamental feature of various electronic components and circuits, and the method of using a multimeter to measure the resistance value between various points of electronic components or circuits to identify faults is called resistance method. There are two fundamental ways to measure the resistance value: "online" and "offline". For "online" measurement, the requirements consider that the components under test are affected by other parallel branches, and the measurement results should be analyzed and judged against the schematic diagram. "Offline" measurement requires the component or circuit under test to be desoldered off the entire circuit or printed board, which is cumbersome to operate but accurate and reliable.
To measure an integrated circuit with the resistance method, usually one pen is grounded first, and the resistance value of each pin to the ground is measured with another pen, and then the pen is exchanged and measured again, and the measured value is compared with the normal value (some repair materials are given, or accumulated by themselves). (It doesn't have to be that the integrated circuit is bad!) )
The resistance method is very useful and convenient for determining the on-off of switches, connectors, wires, printed board conductive patterns and the transformation of resistors, capacitor short circuits, inductance coil breaks, etc., but for transistors, integrated circuits and circuit units, it is generally not possible to directly determine the faults, and the demand is compared and analyzed or other methods are used, but because the resistance method does not need to energize the circuit, the detection risk can be reduced to the smallest, so the general detection is the first choice.
