DENSO has released a new entry-level large-scale parts assembly robot

At ATX West, the 2020 World Automation Skills Expo in Anaheim, United States, DENSO Investment Co., Ltd., headquartered in Japan, showcased a new series of high-performance industrial robots for entry-level manufacturers capable of manufacturing large parts.

The new products include the LPH series, which is designed to meet the needs of precision robots in light manufacturing use, and the VM-VL series of large-scale assembly robots for manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, and other industrial uses.

Entry-level LPH robot

The lightweight and compact LPH features a 4-axis SCARA system that can handle large payloads in excess of 6 lbs (3 kg) and large arms stretched at 1.3 ft (400 mm) intervals. When the LPH is operated with the highest rated payload convention, the LPH has a lifespan of up to five years, because of its lighter load, the LPH industrial robot lasts even longer.

"The LPH is an ideal solution for manufacturers looking for the best robots to handle light production without requiring a huge capital investment," said DENSO says it develops LPH for manufacturers of new automation equipment, and the company is improving their product line from the ground up every three to five years. ”

Other features of the LPH include a large T-axis with gripper planning that provides a high degree of freedom to support different configurations. The high-performance RCA manipulator can help increase the operational power of the manufacturer user by integrating the robot and surrounding equipment.

The free option of the system allows the robot to be operated directly via a programmed logic manipulator. It supports 107 pre-programmed instructions, which promises to be debugged without having to create additional programs from scratch, saving a lot of time.

Heavy-duty VM-VL robots

The VM industrial robot is capable of handling payloads of up to 55 pounds (25 kg) and is available in two versions: one capable of reaching a scale of nearly 5 feet (1.5 meters) and the other capable of reaching a large arm size of nearly 6 feet (1.8 meters). The VL robot model is capable of handling a large payload of 88 pounds (40 kilograms) and a large arm extension scale of more than 8 feet (2.5 meters).

Other features include enhanced internal wiring, the company's RC9 programmable logic manipulator, and WINCAPS Plus, a software that optimizes 3D vision programming, motion schemes, and orientation guidance. The new software is available in five languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, German and Korean.

"With the VM-VL series, DENSO has expanded its precision robotics skills to support large-scale channel manufacturing in addition to light and medium-sized production," Robers said.

The target scale of use of the VM-VL includes large parts assembly, long-interval computer tool maintenance, palletizing and depalletizing, material removal and deburring, and 3D boxing. The VM model is also suitable for sterile and dust-free environments, such as electronics, pharmaceutical, biomedical, food processing, aerospace, and other industries with strict hygiene requirements. The VL model also meets resistance standards for automation in harsh environments, such as the presence of oil residue and water vapor.
