Nowadays, factories in many places have been required to have the production capacity of "more categories and less batches", the demand for production line equipment is frequently updated, and robots need a more sensitive system; The production line is adjusted at high frequency, and the AGV (active elevator vehicle) in the warehouse also needs to change its operating speed accordingly, but to change the precise control of wheel movement means that it needs to be reprogrammed. Therefore, in order to ensure the production line and stable output, the robot needs to have higher reliability and sensitivity.
The Internet promotes the spread of e-commerce. However, in the particularly important one-kilometer delivery link*1, it is difficult to predict the delivery area and route, which is one of the reasons why active delivery robots are not completed and widely used.

In order to address these issues, Denso has adopted EPS-MCU technology to improve the "robot chassis" standard. The EPS-MCU system is an auxiliary steering function in a car, and a car weighing several tons can be easily operated through the power of the electric motor to assist the steering wheel. Reliability, intelligence, low cost and high power are the characteristics of its car parts.

Easy to operate, low cost and sensitive to change
Current AGVs are usually equipped with PLCs for line tracking and communication control, but they are also prone to errors due to their large size, high cost, and complex wiring. The EPS-MCU equipped with a high-performance microcomputer can complete the functions of the PLC, and the basic control program is also equipped on the drive module side, which is easy to operate and can respond to changes sensitively. In addition, it has the advantage of "low cost" as a mass-produced car part, and it is possible to quickly replace parts when the product is replaced.
In the future, DENSO will continue to improve its skills based on the skills it has accumulated in various fields. Now the in-house development of active driving, mobile freezers, agricultural robots and industrial robots in a team to explore the possibilities of drive modules.
