Yaskawa Electric - how to match the reducer according to the servo motor in practical application

1: Flange specification

The cross-sectional size of the reducer is generally about the same as the cross-sectional size of the motor, and other parameters refer to the description of the selected brand, and the technical sample is generally marked with the selection steps and calculation examples. The specific model is indicated differently by brand. It is usually roughly expressed by the output flange size or cross-sectional size, and generally has 40 flanges, 60 flanges, 80 flanges, 120 flanges, 160 flanges, 18 flanges and other specifications.

2: Gear ratio

The reduction ratio of the reducer is roughly the number of the rated speed of the motor divided by the output speed. For example, the speed that needs to be output is 200RPM, and the rated speed of the motor is 3000RPM, so the speed ratio of the reducer is about 1:15. The output speed depends on the operating conditions.

3: Torque

The rated torque of the reducer should be greater than or equal to the rated torque of the motor multiplied by the reduction ratio. Assuming that the rated torque of the motor is 10N.M and the reduction ratio is 15, the rated torque of the selected reducer model should be greater than 10*15=150N. M。

4: Accuracy

The return clearance (backlash, clearance or slewing clearance) of the reducer depends on the specific work requirements, and generally speaking, the clearance used with the servo motor should not be greater than 20arcmin.

General principles:

Small servo motors can be equipped with large reducers, but large motors are generally not equipped with small reducers

The higher the rigidity of the same specification, the better the quality, so our process is a hard tooth surface cutting process.
