The current type of inverter products is characterized by the use of a large inductor as the energy storage link in the middle DC link, and the reactive power will be buffered by this inductor. The advantage is that when the motor is in the regenerative power generation condition, the regenerative power fed back to the DC side can be easily fed back to the communication grid, and no additional equipment is required in the main circuit.

There are two main ways to regulate the output voltageAM type (pulse amplitude conditioning type) and PWM type (pulse width conditioning type). The PAM form has a simple control loop and is mainly used for thyristors. The disadvantage is that the capacitance is large and the voltage control response is slow, making it unsuitable for systems that require rapid acceleration and deceleration. The PWM form has a fast response and can respond with carrier frequency.

Its biggest advantage is that the open-loop of the automatic control loop can complete the voltage control, while the PAM control needs to form a closed loop. Its disadvantage is that in addition to the fundamental voltage, it also contains many higher harmonics, which makes the motor very noisy. However, it is possible to use transistors with higher switching frequencies, which greatly reduces the noise of the motor.

According to the control method, there are two control methods: open-loop control and closed-loop control. Closed-loop control requires motor speed response and speed detection. Open-loop control has V/f control form, no speed detection. The choice of frequency converter depends on the requirements of the load. With regard to square torque loads, the load torque is small at low speeds, and it is usually possible to select a general utility type. Regarding constant torque loads, there are two cases: adding the capacity of the motor and inverter products to add low-speed torque; Frequency conversion products with torque control function are used to complete the speed regulation operation of constant torque load.
