1) Ramp boost soft start. This starting method is simple, does not have current closed-loop control, and only adjusts the conduction angle of the thyristor to make it add a certain function with time. The disadvantage is that because the current is not limited, in the process of motor starting, sometimes a large impulse current is generated to damage the thyristor, which has a greater impact on the power grid, and is rarely used in practice.

(2) Slope constant current soft start. This starting method is to gradually increase the starting current during the initial phase of motor starting, and when the current reaches a pre-set value, it remains constant (T1 to T2 stages) until the end of starting. During starting, the rate at which the current rises can be adjusted according to the motor load. If the current rise rate is large, the starting torque is large and the starting time is short. This starting method uses the most advanced starting methods, especially suitable for the starting of fans and pumps.

(3) Step start. Boot up, that is, in a short time, so that the starting current quickly reaches the set value, that is, step start. After adjusting the starting current set value, it can achieve a fast starting effect.

(4) Pulse impact start. At the beginning of the start-up stage, the thyristor is allowed to conduct at a large current for a period of time in a short period of time, then fall back, and then rise linearly according to the original set value, and connect to the constant current to start. This starting method is rarely used in general loads, and is suitable for starting occasions with heavy loads and large static friction.
