The next Gen family has added a new generation of intelligent laser photoelectric sensor W12L is now fully available, which continues the metal housing and IP69 protection level of the old product, and integrates the Bluepilot teaching assistance technology of W4F and W16/26.
New features such as fine light spot, extended detection distance, and multi-mode detection function enhance the stability and flexibility of the series. It is suitable for the detection needs of high-precision and small objects in various industries such as 3C, semiconductor, automobile assembly, machine tool processing, food packaging, etc.
Features:
Small light spot, high precision
The new generation of W12L spot can reach 0.17*0.1mm in size, which can be widely used in small object detection and thin sheet edge detection.
The new parallel spot is added, and the spot size is stable in the horizontal direction within the detection distance. Background suppression can reach 0.2mm at best, which is suitable for a variety of high-precision inspection applications.
W12L has a spot size of 0.17*0.1mm (100mm)
Dramatically increased detection distance and sensitivity
The new generation of W12L has improved the problem of insufficient detection distance of the conventional laser-type photoelectric sensor, and has added a long-range type and a high-sensitivity type.
The long-range model can detect objects with an angle of up to 850 mm, the high-sensitivity type can detect objects with an angle of 1.2 m, and even black objects can reach a detection distance of 1 m.
The new All-In-One multi-mode photoelectric sensor
The WTM12L incorporates a variety of detection modes that can be easily selected by the customer via the BluePilot interface and the integrated teach-in button.
Detection modes include:
1) Background suppression mode
2) Foreground suppression mode
3) Two-point teaching mode
4) Independent double switching
5) Window mode
6) High sensitivity mode
7) Ranging mode
Multi-modality – multiple benefits
Reduce the complexity of model selection: One photoelectric is suitable for multiple scenarios.
Reduced excess inventory: There is no need to have a large number of different sensors for each project.
Intelligent sensing, flexible production: Communication via IO-Link enables parameterization, digital twinning, real-time monitoring, and predictive maintenance of optoelectronics.
Smart Sensing
All the new generation of W12L laser sensors are equipped with IO-Link communication and can be connected to the SIG200 and SIG350, which can provide the sensors with the advantages of parameter visualization, flexible reading and writing, and condition diagnosis and predictive maintenance. A new Industry 4.0 sensor solution has been formed.
Application scenarios
Detection of small objects such as screws and nuts in the assembly industry
Small hole detection in electronics and machine tool processing
Tobacco and food processing industries
Detection of rods and small objects
Food filling machine material line
Irregular objects are detected in place
The main model

Sick Sensors – An Introduction to Seven Common Sensors
1. Physical sensor:
A physical sensor is a sensor that detects a physical quantity. It is a device that uses certain physical effects to convert the measured physical quantity into a signal in the form of energy that can be easily processed. There is a definite relationship between the output signal and the input signal. The main physical ...

Sick Sensors – What are the precautions for the use of load cells?
1. The signal cable of the sensor should not be arranged in parallel with the strong current power line or control line (for example, do not place the sensor signal line in the same pipe as the strong power line and the control line). IF THEY MUST BE PLACED IN PARALLEL, THEN THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THEM SHOULD BE KEPT AT LEAST 50CM, AND THE SIGNAL ...

Sick sensors – how to work and how to use color mark sensors
How the color mark sensor works
The color mark sensor is actually a reverse installation, the light source is perpendicular to the target object device, and the bearer is biased towards the device at an acute angle to the object, so that it only detects the scattered light from the target object, and then prevents the sensor from directly bearing the reflected light, and can make ...

Sick Sensors – the principle and practical application of color mark sensors
Principle:
Contrast sensors are often used to detect spots on specific color marks or objects, and they are used to detect color marks by comparing them to non-color mark areas, rather than directly measuring color. The color mark sensor is actually a reverse device, where the light source is mounted perpendicular to the target object, and the receiver is connected to the ...
