· ABB Robotics brought innovative achievements covering various industries and categories to the online industry fair
On December 12, ABB released a series of innovative robotic automation products, solutions and services at the online industry fair, aiming to help customers open up more possibilities of flexible production in the new era of automation through ABB's strategy and value proposition.
According to Mascon, President of ABB Robotics, the global development of automation is unprecedented, and the global megatrends including the prevalence of personalized consumption, labor and skilled talent shortages, increased uncertainty, and the need for digitalization and sustainability are unstoppable. This means that companies need to be more flexible, simpler and more efficient in their operations. With our unrivalled global industry expertise and innovative products, we will help our customers adapt to change and succeed.
The IRB 1010, the smallest six-axis industrial robot in ABB's history, made its debut today at the online industry fair, helping wearable smart devices achieve faster, more flexible and high-quality production. With a compact design with loads of up to 1.5kg and an accuracy of 0.01mm, the IRB 1010 has a footprint 30% smaller than the IRB 120, the smallest robot of the previous generation, making it ideal for electronics manufacturers to increase production capacity for a wide range of electronic products, including smartwatches, headphones, sensors and health trackers.
Following the acquisition of ASTI, the world's leading AMR manufacturer, in 2021, ABB embarked on a new journey for autonomous mobile robots and unveiled the Flexley Tug AMR T403 for the first time in China. It enables fast and efficient transfer of workpieces and parts between different stages of the production line and distribution lines, and has a scalable, modular platform to meet the needs of today and tomorrow.
Liang Rui, President of ABB Robotics China, said that since ABB Robotics entered the Chinese market 28 years ago, we have insisted on innovation, empowering business, and always standing at the forefront of automation with customers to lead the development of robotics technology. This year, we showcased our commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology and our "In China, For China" strategy through a series of exhibits that are close to local needs. In addition to robots, which are our core products, we also offer a comprehensive range of services and solutions such as robot software, function packages, modular production cells, and digital technology. With ABB adding AMRs to our portfolio, we will work with our customers to meet more exciting challenges in industrial automation in the future."
In order to better showcase the innovations and the vision of more flexible automation, the ABB Online Industry Fair has set up a virtual booth and divided it into several areas, such as the AMR exhibition area, the collaborative robot area featuring the future of collaborative automation, the new product area full of advanced solutions, including the IRB 1010 robot demonstration unit, and the digital exhibition area designed to help enterprises accelerate transformation and upgrading.
