ABB's remote digital connectivity and monitoring technology will be based on Ola's proprietary AI engine and technology stack.
Ola, one of the world's leading mobility companies, today announced that it has selected ABB as one of its key partners for robotics and automation solutions at its large-scale factory in India, which will launch the highly anticipated Ola electric scooter. Ola's scooter megafactory, which claims to be the largest in the world, is expected to be ready and operational in the coming months.
Ola will use ABB's automation solutions in key manufacturing process lines, including painting and welding lines, at its plants, while ABB robots will be widely used in battery and motor assembly lines. These include the IRB 5500 painting and IRB 2600 integrated dressing robots in ABB's painting and welding lines, as well as the IRB 6700 robots for assembly and material handling in battery and motor assembly areas.
ABB robots will be digitally integrated into Ola's AI-enabled large-scale factories to optimize robot performance, productivity and product quality. Using ABB's robotics and automation solutions will ensure remote digital connectivity and monitoring of robots that will use Ola's proprietary AI engine and technology stack.

Ola is building large-scale factories based on Industry 4.0 principles, powered by its proprietary AI engine and technology stack that will be deeply integrated into all of its systems, constantly self-learning and optimizing every aspect of the manufacturing process. This will provide unprecedented control, automation, and quality to the entire operation, especially as Ola implements cyber-physical and advanced IoE systems.
With an initial annual capacity of 2 million units, Ola's large plant will create 10,000 jobs and become the company's global manufacturing hub for India and international markets in Europe, United Kingdom, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. The large plant is also expected to be the most automated in the country, with around 5,000 robots and AGVs in operation once the plant is fully operational.
The Licensing Office is India's largest mobile platform and one of the world's largest ride-hailing companies, serving more than 250 cities in India, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, including key global markets such as London and Sydney. The Ola app provides mobility solutions by connecting customers with drivers and a variety of vehicles such as bicycles, auto-rickshaws, metered taxis, and taxis, providing mobility solutions that provide convenience and transparency to hundreds of millions of consumers and more than 2.5 million driver partners. Ola's core mobility offerings in India are complemented by its electric vehicle division, Ola Electric, and India's largest fleet management business, Ola Fleet Technologies.
