The new center brings the company closer to distributors, contractors, industrial customers and retailers in the western United States, providing faster service and delivery times for the entire electrical product line, including packaged products and high-end custom manufacturing.
ABB today signed a lease for a 400,000-square-foot building in Phoenix, Arizona, to serve as the West Coast distribution center for the company's electrical installation products business (formerly Thomas &Betts).
The company's plan is to make the distribution center fully operational in the third quarter of 2020 and is undergoing construction, upgrades and staffing, with up to 100 new positions.
"This new distribution center in Phoenix brings us closer to our customers in the western United States, allowing us to deliver the products they need to contractors and industrial builders when they need them," said Ken Shotts, head of United States distribution. "We're happy to grow up in Phoenix because we try to provide better service to our customers every day."
"Our new facility in Arizona represents an important milestone in the expansion of our logistics capabilities," said Christy Tilton, Head of Device Product Sales at ABB United States. "We are committed to exceeding the expectations of our customers and channel partners."
More than 2,000 products for sale from the entire portfolio of plant products will be stored in the new distribution center. ABBInstallationProducts is a leading manufacturer of large tent products for the electrification ecosystem, including leading brands such as T&BLiquidtightFittings, Ty-Rap, Elastimold and Blackburn/ColorKeyed.
ABBInstallationProducts, formerly known as Thomas &Betts, is a global leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of products for the management of electrical connection, protection and distribution in industrial, construction and utility applications.
