Flexible module design – The 3582 Series units can be upgraded to the Model 3582i Electro-Pneumatic Positioner in the field to replace the measurement module with the Model 582i Electro-Ptic Converter Assembly (1). The Model 582i electrical-gas-type converter is attached to the housing of the positioner and provides a very economical replacement. As a result, the 3582 Series units can be upgraded from pneumatic to electrical instrumentation in the field to comply with the new control strategy.
● Effective and Vibrationally Resistant – The 3582 Series and Model 3582i positioners offer a field-proven positioner construction. It is highly accurate, fast responsive, and able to withstand the vibrations of most factory environments. The low steady-state air consumption makes it work more efficiently.
● Wide adjustable range – The 3582 Series and Model 3582i positioners have a split range capability. The zero point and range of the range allow the use of all standard input signals, including the split input signal.
● Reduced spare parts inventory – Since the various units of a positioner series can be used in a variety of control occasions, the inventory of basic spare parts can be greatly reduced, and only a few spare parts are needed to support the application needs of positioners throughout the plant.
● Easy adjustment of the positioner – After the housing is removed, the adjustment screws for the zero point and range are easy to find and can be adjusted using common hand tools.
● Stable operation - the influence of changes in air pressure and valve load on the positioner is insignificant.
● Corrosion-resistant – housing, components, and gasket materials can withstand harsh environments. The positioner provides additional protection by venting the air while also cleaning the internal components.
● Field replaceable direction of action - only need to adjust the unit to interchange between positive action and reaction.
● Control Valve Diagnostic Testing Capability – For diagnostic testing of valve/actuator/positioner assemblies using the FlowScanner Valve Diagnostic System, connectors, nibbles, and other hardware can be easily installed between the 3582 Series and Model 3582i and Actuators.
