KUKA robot PC/IPC crash handling method

Create Date: 2024-8-30 12:03:23|Source: KUKA

KUKA robot uses KUKA robot PC computer / industrial computer for motion control, there may be a crash in the process of use, if it is not handled properly, it is easy to form a robot reference zero point failure, long-term impact on production.

KUKA robot PC/IPC crash handling method

The reason for the zero point failure of the KUKA robot, when the robot is turned on or operated, it will always detect the relationship between the robot's current position and the zero point parameters, if an error is found, the robot will stop all tasks in order to ensure the safety of the equipment, force the zero point parameters to be deleted and require the operator to correct from the beginning. In other words, the zero parameter is actively deleted, not discarded. So, not "lost", but "invalid". The reference zero parameters of the robot are recorded in the RDC (a black box at the base of the robot).

Under normal circumstances, every time the power is cut off or shut down, the system will use the power of the backup battery to delay the shutdown time, so that the system can store the orientation parameters of the robot at that time in the RDC when the system has a satisfactory time. The next time the machine is turned on, the system will read the parameters in the RDC and compare them with the position of the robot at that time, and if they are inconsistent, the zero parameters in the RDC will be forcibly deleted to maintain the device.

If the computer crashes, the KUKA robot system will not be able to effectively control the operation of the backup battery, and it will not be able to ensure that the parameters are stored in the RDC at the time of satisfaction. Then the next time the machine is turned on, the robot orientation parameters will be inconsistent with the RDC, the reference zero point will be deleted, and the operator will be prompted to correct it from scratch.

When the KUKA robot freezes and needs to be started from scratch.

The difference between a robotic arm and an industrial robot – a KUKA robot The difference between a robotic arm and an industrial robot – a KUKA robot

Industrial robot is a kind of automation equipment, mechanical arm is a kind of industrial robot, industrial robots also have other forms, although the meaning of the two is different, but the content of the reference has overlapping parts. So to put it simply, there are many forms of industrial robots, and the robotic arm is just one of them.
