Splash issues
Because metal is thrown from the weld point to adjacent surfaces, spatter reduces power and adds expense to the installation line. After the welding is completed, the welder needs to sort out the weld, and the rest of the data is wasted.
Many welders think it's part of welding. Many people learn to weld with audio-visual cues such as sparks or clatters.
"They are used to this situation, and when they don't have that, they question the quality of the welding. They are accustomed to hearing the sound of clanging and seeing sparks flying. ”
But the bad news is that they splash on their own, which is actually a sign of imperfection in welding.
Why would you spend more time and money to remove the effects of splashes? How can I minimize the spatter at the weld? Here are three propositions for cutting welding spatter on the production line.
Three ways to cut spatter
Adjust the arc voltage
If the settings are incorrect, the voltage settings will add significant splashes. Low voltage settings can cause spatter as the wire is repeatedly short-circuited in the weld pool, resulting in a small burst at the top of the wire.
This short circuit is normal for short arc MIG welding, but if the arc voltage is set correctly, it is generally possible to keep the discharged spatter to a small scale and prevent it from sticking to the workpiece or surrounding fixtures. On the other hand, too high a voltage can also cause excessive splashing due to extremely strong arc forces.
Change the sticks
The amperage of the arc depends in part on the length of the stick extension, or the amount of wire beyond the contact where the weld occurs.
If the object is too long, it will reduce the current and cause the spatter to fly out of the weld because it has not penetrated deep into the weld. If it's too short, it will add an electric current because of the force of the arc that throws the data out of the weld.
Advance your welding machine
Have you ever wondered if your welding machine – whether manual or robotic – could cause this problem?
Pick a quality welder to minimize or almost eliminate spatter. With the advent of ultra-high-speed electronics, some of today's welding power sources are focused on spatter reduction due to their valuable effects. For example, the OTC welding machine is easy to operate, realizes professional high-quality welding, and is suitable for a variety of metal welding.
