The temperature controller is an electrical switchgear that controls the temperature of an air-conditioned room. The temperature scale in the air-conditioned room controlled by the temperature controller is generally 18°C--28°C. The temperature controller commonly used in window air conditioners uses the principle of pressure effect to promote the opening and closing of contacts. Its structure consists of bellows, temperature sensing bag (test tube), eccentric wheel, micro switch, etc., which form a sealed system and a system for transmitting signal power.

There are generally two types of manipulation methods; One is controlled by the temperature change of the cooled target, and the other is controlled by the temperature difference of the cooled target, and the electronic thermostat is mostly used.

The effect of the electromechanical system of the air conditioner is to control the normal and multi-functional work of the air conditioner, and the compressor and fan motor work normally. The main components of the electrical system are: thermostat, heater, main control switch, working capacitor, working capacitor of electric fan motor, etc., which are fixed in the control box. The effect of the temperature controller is only to control the starting and aborting of the compressor.

The action of the bellows is effected by the tension spring, the elastic force of the tension spring is controlled by the knob on the control board, and the capillary tube is placed at the air inlet of the air conditioner to respond to the temperature of the indoor circulating return air. When the room temperature rises to the set temperature, the temperature sensor gas in the capillary tube and the bellows expands, so that the bellows elongates and overcomes the elastic force of the tension spring to connect the switch contacts, at this moment the compressor works, the system is refrigerated, until the room temperature drops to the set temperature, the temperature sensing bag gas is shortened, the bellows is shortened and the tension spring is acted together, the switch is disconnected, and the motor of the compressor is cut off. In this way, the action is repeated to achieve the purpose of controlling the temperature of the room.

The electronic temperature controller (resistance type) is measured by using the method of resistance temperature sensing, and generally uses platinum wire, copper wire, tungsten wire and semiconductor (thermistor, etc.) as the temperature measurement resistance, and these resistors have their own advantages and accuracy. Most of the sensors in household air conditioners are thermistors.

The thermistor thermostat is made according to the Wheatstone bridge principle, which is the Wheatstone bridge. According to Kirchhoff's law, when the resistance R1 of the bridge ×R4=R2×R3, the potential of A and C is equal, no current flows between A and C, and the size of the thermistor R1 changes with the rise or fall of the surrounding temperature, so that the balance is affected and there is an output current between AC. Therefore, when constructing a thermostat, the temperature conditioning scale and operating temperature can be easily changed by selecting the appropriate thermistor.
