A gas sensor is a converter that converts the volume fraction of a gas into an electrical signal. We will inevitably encounter some problems when using gas sensors, and we have analyzed them as follows:

1. How long does it take for the gas sensor to be recalibrated after use: The time interval between the initial calibration and recalibration depends on many factors, generally including the operating temperature, humidity, pressure, what kind of gas the sensor is exposed to, and the length of time it is exposed to the gas.

However, most products can provide a very stable signal for a long period of time, and the use of gas sensors only requires regular calibration, such as once a year. If the application of the sensor is extremely demanding or for safe use, calibration may be more frequent.

2. What happens when the temperature of the gas itself is different from the temperature of the sensor: the temperature of the sensor itself determines its minimum display current, and the temperature of the measured gas sample has a certain influence on this. The rate at which gas molecules pass through the pores and enter the sensing electrode determines the sensor's signal.

If the temperature of the diffused gas passing through the pores is different from the temperature of the gas inside the sensor, it may have an effect on the sensitivity of the sensor. Before the device is set up, there may be a slight drift or a transient change in current.

3. Whether the gas sensor can continue to be exposed to the guide gas: The gas sensor can intermittently monitor the guide gas, which is generally not suitable for continuous monitoring, especially when it involves high gas concentration, high humidity or high temperature.

In order to achieve the intention of continuous monitoring, it is sometimes possible to cycle two (or even three) sensors so that each sensor is exposed to the gas for at most half of the time, and the other half of the time is recovered in the fresh air.

The gas sensor will be developed on the basis of making full use of multidisciplinary comprehensive skills such as micromechanical and microelectronic skills, computer skills, signal processing skills, sensing skills, fault diagnosis skills, and intelligence skills. The development of fully automatic digital intelligent gas sensors that can monitor multiple gases together will be an important research direction in this field.
