Shanghai, China, November 6, 2021 – Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) today held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony with Chongqing Proton Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. ("Proton"300363) at the 4th China International Import Expo (EXPO). The two parties will cooperate in the field of intelligent manufacturing, and further improve the safety, flexibility and reliability of drug production by adopting Honeywell's excellent manufacturing operation and management system and digital technology, enabling Proton to become the world's leading pharmaceutical contract R&D and manufacturing enterprise (CDMO).
Under the terms of the agreement, Honeywell will provide Proton with customized software solutions and facilities including production process control (DCS) products, air conditioning automation systems (BMS/EMS), building control systems, production management systems (MES), sensors, gas monitoring systems and complete safety systems. The two parties will also carry out in-depth cooperation around big data and machine learning, deepen the research and development of equipment interconnection and edge computing, further optimize process control, ensure production quality and repeatability, and improve production flexibility, helping Proton minimize regulatory risks, improve operational efficiency and shorten lead times.

In order to help Proton achieve safe, reliable, intelligent and sustainable drug production management and operation, Honeywell deployed process and batch control in the plant to ensure quality and repeatability while optimizing flexible production.
In addition, Honeywell will also use technologies such as digital twins and dynamic models to monitor asset and process operation dynamics, realize production management visualization, and comprehensively help the intelligent upgrade of factories. After the implementation of the project, about 75% of the operating units of the workshop can be automated, and the highly flexible and multifunctional system can meet the production needs of different projects.
