Houston, United States, February 3, 2021 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced that it has been awarded a major commercial contract by Shandong Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. (SEPCO) to provide a package of connected control, communications, safety and security systems for the King Salamaman International Integrated Port Facility project developed by Saudi Aramco in the Ras Al-Khair region of Saudi Arabia.
When completed, the complex will be one of the largest shipyards in the world, automating operations through the introduction of a range of Honeywell custom technologies for better safety, efficiency and security. As the main procurement and construction contractor, SEPCO will be responsible for the integration of the entire system.

Honeywell will provide a complete set of interconnection systems for the project through Shandong Electric Power Construction, including:
A complete set of integrated cyber security automation control systems gives facility operators full visibility into on-site processes, reducing workload and increasing efficiency. These include Honeywell's ControlEdge™ Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Data Concentrators, Safety Manager SC and Experion® Process Knowledge Systems (PKS), Data Acquisition and Supervisory Control (SCADA) systems.
Integrate communication and security systems, including local communications and network security systems, closed-circuit television (CCTV), and access control technologies to help facility operators dramatically improve site security.
Fire and gas detection systems, including fire and gas controllers and automatic smoke detection systems, help isolate areas in the event of an emergency and minimize facility-wide downtime while maintaining safety.

The groundbreaking of the King Salman International Integrated Port Facility project in November 2016 is not only an important addition to the development of the Kingdom's energy sector, but also contributes to the development and diversification goals set out in the Kingdom's Vision 2030 reform plan. When officially completed, the complex will be the world's most influential maritime complex, offering a portfolio of services including the construction, maintenance, repair and overhaul of ships and rigs, helping Saudi Arabia become one of the world's shipbuilding powers.
Honeywell has been deeply involved in the Saudi Arabia market for more than 60 years and has played an important role in supporting and promoting the development of Saudi industry. In June 2020, Honeywell announced the construction of a new natural gas detection equipment manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia as the latest milestone initiative in response to the IKTVA (Total Local Value Enhancement Program). In addition, Honeywell has a series of training programs to help Saudi Arabia transition to a knowledge-based economy, such as Honeywell's long-standing partnership with King Fakh University of Petroleum and Mines in Germany, as well as Honeywell's UOP University and the TECPro Career Development Initiative to support Saudi graduates at the beginning of their careers in engineering and technology.
