In my personal opinion, most of the conditions are caused by the wrong coil voltage of the replacement AC contactor, or the person who buys the AC contactor does not understand its operating voltage, and the replacement operator is also caused by a beginner electrician. To put it simply, it has been able to engage and release to indicate that the control loop is a closed loop, as long as the start button does not let go, it is equivalent to a jog button, here for the time being, we will not talk about whether the self-locking auxiliary contact of the AC contactor has not worked, because the hand is not loose. It is common that the AC contactor with a voltage of 220V in the control loop is replaced by an AC contactor with a suction coil voltage of 380V, so the voltage of the contactor coil is 220V, and the base cannot make the magnetic force generated by the contactor coil to overcome the tension of the four springs, and it is always in a half-dead operating state.
If the contactor in the original circuit is 380V and the voltage of the replacement AC contactor coil is 220V, then it can be temporarily engaged, but for a little longer, the contactor coil will heat up immediately because the voltage is too high and burn the contactor coil, because the supply voltage is much longer than the normal range of the pick-up voltage.
