OH failure

Faults are the most common faults of Yaskawa inverters. The IGBT module is damaged, which is one of the causes of the SC fault alarm. In addition, damage to the drive circuit can easily lead to SC fault alarms. In the design of the drive circuit, Yaskawa uses the drive optocoupler PC923 on the upper bridge, which is an optocoupler with an amplification circuit dedicated to driving the IGBT module, and Yaskawa's downside drive circuit uses the optocoupler PC929, which is an optocoupler with an internal amplification circuit and a detection circuit. In addition, motor jitter, three-phase current, voltage imbalance, frequency display but no voltage output, these phenomena may be damage to the IGBT module. There are many reasons for the damage of the IGBT module, the first is the damage of the IGBT module caused by the failure of the external load, such as short circuit and blocked rotor of the load. Secondly, the aging of the drive circuit may also lead to the distortion of the drive waveform, or the drive voltage fluctuation is too large, resulting in IGBT damage, which will lead to SC fault alarm.

OH overheating

Overheating is a common malfunction. When this happens, the first thing you think about is whether the cooling fan is running, and if you look at the outside of the machine, you will see whether the fan is running, and for machines over 30kW, there is also a cooling fan inside the machine, and the damage of this fan will also lead to an OH alarm.

UV undervoltage fault

When there is an undervoltage fault, the first thing we should check is whether the input power supply is out of phase, if there is no problem with the input power supply, then we should check whether there is a problem with the rectifier circuit, if there is no problem, then it depends on whether there is a problem on the DC detection circuit. For 200V class machines, when the DC bus voltage is lower than 190VDC, the UV alarm will appear; For 400V class machines, when the DC voltage is lower than 380VDC, the fault alarm will appear. It mainly detects whether the step-down resistor is open.

GF ground fault

Grounding fault is also usually encountered fault, in addition to eliminating the cause of the motor grounding problem, the most likely part of the failure is the Hall sensor, Hall sensor due to the influence of temperature, humidity and other environmental factors, the working point is easy to drift, resulting in GF alarm.
