The purpose of UPS switching power supply test is to meet the actual technical index requirements of UPS switching power supply, people usually carry out steady-state, dynamic and routine testing for UPS switching power supply test, in addition, there are other types of UPS switching power supply test content.
UPS tests generally include steady-state, dynamic and routine tests. The steady-state test is to test the phase voltage, no-load loss, power factor, output voltage waveform, and frequency of output voltage under no-load and rated load conditions. Dynamic test generally refers to the change of UPS output voltage when the load is abrupt, so as to test the dynamic characteristics and energy feedback path of UPS. The routine test is to test its overload capacity and detect the battery.
For UPS power supplies, it is sufficient to carry out the above three tests, but for many manufactured UPS power supplies, it is necessary to carry out unique tests. Special tests can be performed by sampling and include:
(1) In the case of rated load advance and delay, observe the stabilization effect of UPS switching power supply output.
(2) Efficiency test under small load conditions. Under the condition of rated load (hysteresis), the efficiency of qualified UPS switching power supply can reach 80%.
(3) Continuous operation test. This includes frequent starts and transitions.
The purpose of frequent start-up is to check the dynamics and heat resistance of inverter power supplies, static data power switches, and filter power capacitors. The mode is to start the switching power supply, when the inverter power supply is successfully started, with output voltage and output current, and considering the technical standards, with the load operation; The load is then reduced, terminated, and the switching power supply is restarted. This should be done several times in a row.
Frequent switching tests. The main thing is to detect whether there is a break point in the power supply during the conversion, and there should be no break point in the online UPS switching power supply.
(4) Starting test of the charger. In order to protect the battery and avoid the impact on the power grid when the charger starts, the charger of the general UPS starts with a limited current start function, and the transition process of the charger from starting to normal operation is generally more than 10s, and the current is generally limited to 1/10 of the battery capacity.
(5) Loading test without battery. When the UPS switching power supply does not have a battery, the UPS only has the function of voltage stabilization. Adding a load without a battery can test the dynamic performance of the rectifier. Generally, it is required to ensure that the output voltage is restored to within (100±1)% within 20ms. For this function, different UPSs have different designs.
(6) Higher harmonic test. Generally, the sum of higher harmonic components is less than 5%, which can be tested with a harmonic analyzer. The excellent UPS power supply can filter out all harmonics below the 11th harmonic, and the waveform is relatively stable. Therefore, the selection of UPS should also try to choose UPS that does not contain harmonics below the 11th harmonic.
Output short circuit test. This kind of test is generally not carried out to prevent damage to the UPS power supply equipment. This is due to the shortcomings of the short-circuit protection of some UPS outputs. For UPS with bypass switching power supply, it is necessary to carry out output short-circuit fault detection when the bypass switching power supply is disconnected. Otherwise, when the output is short-circuited, the uninterruptible power supply switching power supply will cut off the load of the bypass switching power supply while limiting the current, and blow the fuse of the bypass switching power supply for protection. In this way, the current limit of the output short-circuit protection is not visible, and the fuse of the bypass switching power supply will blow out, which should be avoided.
The testing content of UPS power transformer can also include temperature maintenance function test, working temperature test, vibration test, withstand voltage test, battery charging test, high temperature test, high ambient humidity test, reliability test and load test with different performance. As a product for formal production, especially when mass production, it is necessary to test all of the above. However, as the user's identification and acceptance of the product, it is generally enough to carry out static testing, dynamic testing and routine testing.
