The first disability inclusion workshops are underway at Eaton's seven sites in China

Disability inclusion is not only an important step in Eaton's commitment to diversity and inclusion, but also another landmark step for Eaton's corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Shanghai, China – Eaton, a global power management company, today announced the launch of its disability inclusion program in the Asia-Pacific region, with the first workshops underway at seven of Eaton's sites in Shanghai, Jining, Changzhou, Suzhou, Ningbo, Shenzhen and Dongguan. This marks Eaton's entry into the disability inclusion cohort and is the first landmark initiative of the company's inclusive resource community, enABLE, to be officially launched in the Asia Pacific region in June 2019.

Eaton aspires to be a model of inclusion and diversity, attracting more diverse talent, providing equal employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and leveraging their strengths and talents. Inclusive Resource Community enABLE is the third inclusive resource community promoted by Eaton in the Asia Pacific region after Women Adding Value at Eaton (Women Adding Value at Eaton) and Engage (Eaton Next-Generation Achieving Goals and Excelling), which was officially launched in the Asia Pacific region in June 2019. The community supports Eaton as a model for all people with physical, mental and emotional control through awareness-raising, resources and knowledge sharing to grow together with the company, and is the only official inclusive community within Eaton that provides support and resources for employees with family members with disabilities. Within 4 months of its inception, enABLE has successfully onboarded nearly 600 members in the Asia Pacific region.

The first batch of workshops was jointly planned by Rongyi Consulting, a strategic partner of Eaton's enABLE program in Asia Pacific, and Eaton, and is based on the "Disability Equality Training" (DET), a participatory training developed and promoted by the International Labor Organization (ILO) of the United Nations since 2008. Through an open and inclusive space, each EtonHouse individual is led by professional facilitators to explore and reflect on the connection between disability and themselves, EtonHouse company and society, and find the best way to participate in disability integration and employment.

Recently, the Shanghai and Ningbo fields have been successfully completed.
