1. Replace the controller motherboard battery
Program and system variables are stored in SRAM on the motherboard, powered by a lithium battery located on the motherboard to save data. When the voltage of this battery is insufficient, an alarm will be displayed on the TP (SYST-035 Low or No Battery Power in PSU). When the voltage becomes lower, the contents of the SRAM cannot be backed up, and the old battery needs to be replaced and the data that was backed up is reloaded. Therefore, users should pay attention to backing up their data regularly. The batteries on the controller's motherboard are changed every two years. When replacing the battery, be sure to do so with the battery on. Replacing the battery when it is not powered on will lose the current location information, resulting in unnecessary data loss.
The following describes how to replace the controller motherboard battery.
(1) Prepare a new 3V lithium battery (FANUC original battery is recommended).
(2) After the industrial robot is powered on and turned on normally, wait for 30 seconds.
(3) Turn off the power of the industrial robot, open the controller cabinet, unplug the connector and remove the old battery on the motherboard.
(4) Install the new battery and plug in the connector.
2. Replace the battery of the industrial robot
The battery on the industrial robot body is used to store the data of each axis encoder. The battery needs to be replaced annually and is also allowed to be replaced by the user when the battery voltage drop alarm (SRVO-065 BLAL alarm (Group: %d Axis: %d)) appears. If it is not replaced in time, there will be an alarm (SRVO-062 BZAL alarm(Group: %d Axis: %d)), at this time, the industrial robot will not be able to operate, and then replace the battery in this case, and also need to do zero reset (Mastering) to make the industrial robot operate normally.
The steps to replace the battery of the industrial robot body are as follows.
(1) Keep the power of the industrial robot on and press the machine emergency stop button.
(2) Open the lid of the battery compartment and take out the old battery.
(3) Replace the battery with a new one (it is recommended to use the original FANUC battery), and be careful not to install the wrong positive and negative poles (marked on the lid of the battery box).
