Estun servo – the difference between servo motor and ordinary motor

There are many types of motors, and the ordinary motor we commonly use is the induction motor, although it and the servo motor are both motors, there are certain differences:

1. The speed of the ordinary motor is too fast, the torque is too small, and it is usually impossible to achieve precise control due to the lack of its own feedback.

2. The servo motor structure is a stator coil + magnetic rotor, which needs to know the magnetic field of the rotor change through the synchronous signal of the reaction encoder to achieve the intention of precise control, and the ordinary motor structure is a stator three-phase coil star or triangular structure + rotor core, and there is no synchronization signal requirement, which is not a closed-loop reaction in the real sense.

3. The structure of the servo motor is closed-loop feedback control, which requires the use of servo drive, and the structure of ordinary motor is simple and does not need to use a special servo drive.

4. Due to the difference in structure, the price of servo motor is usually more expensive than that of ordinary motor, and there are more types of faults, and maintenance is more troublesome.

5. In terms of application, the application occasions of ordinary motors are mainly ordinary electrical appliances such as electric toys and shavers, while service motors are mainly used for equipment with relatively high requirements for process accuracy, processing efficiency and work reliability.

6. The servo motor needs to be sent to the supporting driver through the sensor and encoder at the back end of the motor, and then the driver adjusts the driving current in real time to control the motor rotation according to the user's specified value, while the general motor is directly driven by the inverter or voltage regulator and other equipment to rotate the motor, and will not dynamically adjust the external interference.
