Circle B, Rittal and Switch data centres in Germany launch the first European Open Computing Project (OCP) Experience Centre. The full-featured OCP environment is located at one of the facilities of three switching data centers in the Amsterdam area. (The OCP Experience Center can serve as a demonstration center, but it can also be used to test new (OCP) acceptance ™ and (OCP-inspired ™ data center environments and telecom solutions.)
Circle B is the first European channel partner to achieve OCP Solution Provider ® status. Solution providers are a special group in the OCP ecosystem. They develop, test, deliver, and support off-the-shelf systems and environments based on OCP designs. Rittal Germany is a well-known manufacturer of data centre infrastructure solutions. As part of its product portfolio,Germany RittRittal designs, manufactures and sells racks and cooling solutions based on OCP designs. Switch Data Center is one of the largest carrier-neutral data center operators in the Netherlands. Currently, Switch Data Center is building a new data center in Amsterdam based on the principles of OCP.
The three companies determined that in the technology sector, IT managers of large enterprises and governments in the European region have not yet adopted the OCP principles on a large scale. These principles form the basis of many superscalar operations. By adopting an OCP design in their data centers, large enterprises and governments can benefit from the same benefits as supercomputing: lower costs, lower energy usage, and greater flexibility.
Initiated by the Rittal Rittal, Circle B and Switch data centres in Germany, the European OCP Experience Centre aims to help IT managers and data centre managers fully understand the impact of OCP design on their data centres. The center also allows them to test specific OCP-based solutions related to their IT environment.

The Circle B, Rittal and Switch data centres in Germany provide a great showcase for open hardware design, highlighting the strengths of each member in delivering OCP solutions across Europe.
The European OCP Experience Center is located near Amsterdam International Airport Schiphol. The center's first OCP Regional Summit was held in Amsterdam on October 1-2, 2018 at the Amsterdam International Exhibition Centre.
