Electric drive equipment can be divided into direct current (DC), communication (AC) servo motor drive and stepper motor drive. DC servo motor brushes are easy to wear and tear and spark easily. Brushless DC motors are also becoming more and more widely used. The stepper motor drive is mostly open-loop control, the control is simple but the power is not large, and it is mostly used in low-precision and low-power robot systems.

The following checks should be made before the electric power is turned on:

1) Whether the power supply voltage is appropriate (overvoltage is likely to cause damage to the drive module); The +/- polarity of the DC input must not be wrong, and whether the motor type or current setting value on the drive controller is appropriate (not too large at the beginning);

2) The control signal cable is reliable, and it is best to consider the shielding problem in the industrial site (such as the selection of twisted pair cable);

3) Don't connect all the lines of demand at the beginning, only connect the most basic system, and then gradually connect after the operation is excellent.

4) It is necessary to figure out the grounding method, or choose to float without connection.

5) Within half an hour of starting operation, closely observe the condition of the motor, such as whether the movement is normal, the sound and the temperature rise, and stop the machine for adjustment immediately if the problem is found.
