01 The role is different
Proximity switches are contactless switches with a long life and are suitable for "pass-through signals". The travel switch is also known as the limit switch, the travel switch and the limit switch are both position switches, but the travel switch can detect the stroke and can be used as an input signal to control the circuit at a certain distance. Different from the limit switch, it detects the signal of the restricted position, and plays the role of stopping and protecting.
02 Different triggers
Travel switch. When the animal approaches a still life, the connecting rod of the switch drives the contact of the switch, causing the closed contact to break or the disconnected contact to close. The action of the circuit and mechanism is controlled by the change of the opening and closing state of the switch contact. An inductive proximity switch is a position sensor with a switching output, which consists of an LC high-frequency oscillator and an amplification processing circuit, which uses a metal object to produce eddy currents inside the object when it approaches the oscillation sensing head that can generate an electromagnetic field. This eddy current reacts on the proximity switch, which attenuates the oscillation ability of the proximity switch and changes the parameters of the internal circuit, thereby identifying whether there is a metallic object approaching, and then controlling the switch on or off.
03 The installation object is different
The travel switch, also known as the limit switch, can be installed on relatively stationary objects (such as fixed frames, door frames, etc., referred to as still life) or moving objects (such as cars, doors, etc., referred to as animals). The proximity switch consists of an LC high-frequency oscillator and an amplification processing circuit that uses a metal object to generate eddy currents inside the object when it approaches the oscillation sensing head, which generates an electromagnetic field.

Siemens APT Relays – How to Choose the Right Power Relay
1. Measure the resistance of the contact
Use the resistance level of the universal meter to measure the resistance of the normally closed contact and the moving point, and its resistance value should be 0, (the contact resistance value can be measured in a more accurate way within 100 milliohms); The resistance between the normally open contact and the moving point is infinite. From this, it can be distinguished which is a normally closed contact ...
