Collaborative robots are robots designed for direct interaction with humans, that is, robots that are designed to interact with humans in close proximity in a common work space, and have begun to gain widespread attention in recent years.
Traditional industrial robots are under safety fences or other protective measures to complete high-precision, high-speed operations such as welding, spraying, transfer palletizing, polishing and grinding. The collaborative robot breaks the traditional fully manual and fully automatic production mode, and can directly work with the operator on the same production line, but does not need to use safety fences to block people.
The main features of cobots are:
(1) Lightweight: make the robot easier to control and improve safety.
(2) Friendliness: Ensure that the surface and joints of the robot are lubricated and smooth, and there are no sharp corners that may easily pinch the operator's gaps.
(3) Flexible deployment: The fuselage can be reduced to a scale that can be placed on the work table and can be installed anywhere.
(4) Perceptual ability: can perceive the surrounding environment and change its own actions and behaviors according to changes in the environment.
(5) Human-machine cooperation: it has sensitive force feedback characteristics, and it will be stopped immediately when the set force is reached, and there is no need to install a protective fence after the risk assessment, so that people and robots can work together.
(6) Convenient programming: For some general operators and non-technical set personnel, it is very easy to program and debug.
(7) Low operating cost: basically there is no need for maintenance cost input, and the power consumption of the robot body is low.
As a new type of industrial robot, collaborative robots have swept away the obstacles of human-machine collaboration, allowing robots to be completely disjointed from the bundle of guardrails or cages, and its pioneering product functions and wide range of application fields have opened a new era for the development of industrial robots.
