The VFD is also the core equipment for constant voltage control. For VFD, either the built-in PID conditioning unit or the intelligent PID manipulator is installed to achieve constant voltage control. The PID manipulator consists of three units: proportion, integration and derivation, which are mainly used to set these three parameters. The PID manipulator adjusts the error of the whole system according to the PID control principle, so that the practical value is consistent with the process requirement value. In simple terms, the manipulator collects data, compares it to a reference value, and then uses the error to calculate a new input value. The purpose of this new input is to keep the system data at the reference value. Not when the practice value is equal to the reference value, but sticks to the reference value. This equilibrium can only be described as a dynamic equilibrium.

In order to provide data collection for PID manipulators, it is necessary to use an imitation of the appearance, i.e. a pressure transmitter. The pressure transmitter plays the role of detection and transmission in the closed-loop conditioning system. The pressure is detected, and then the detected pressure is converted into a current signal to the VFD. The VFD then directly receives the transmitter's analog signal for PID manipulation. Once the pressure changes, the output frequency of the VFD will also change, which will also change the speed of the motor to achieve the purpose of stabilizing the pressure.

Generally, the constant pressure control mode at the outlet of the water pump is selected, and the pressure transmitter is installed at the outlet of the water pump, which reflects the real-time change of water pressure and makes the control effect of the closed-loop conditioning system better.
