Recently, Universal Robots, a leading company in collaborative robots, announced that its revenue in the second quarter of 2022 reached $83 million.
"Overall, Universal Robots' revenue in the second quarter increased by 8% compared to the same period last year, but in Denmark's local currency, the company grew by 22% in the quarter," said Kim Povlsen, President of Universal Robots.
Povlsen added that in this way, Universal Robots' performance in the first half of 2022 increased by 30% compared to the same period in 2021.
Universal Robots sees strong growth in global welding demand as key to the company's success in the first half of the year, along with an increase in revenue from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) channel.
"Our cobots are laying the groundwork for some very exciting new products," says Povlsen. We continue to develop new OEM partnerships in our rich ecosystem and believe this will provide great opportunities for future innovation and growth. ”
More than 80 OEMs are currently using Universal Robots to create solutions for a wide range of applications, from welding and palletizing to construction tasks, reflecting the growing demand for collaborative technology.
Universal Robots is the first company in the world to propose the concept of collaborative robots, and has maintained a leading market share in collaborative robots, with more than 50,000 collaborative robots deployed.
In June this year, Universal Robots released the next generation of industrial cobot UR20, its first high-payload cobot, which to some extent indicates the trend of cobots moving towards large payloads.
