Universal Robots – Correct operation of the manipulator and precautions

Create Date: 2024-8-30 12:03:23|Source: Universal Robots/UR

How to operate and use the manipulator correctly:

1. Do not lift the weight of the workpiece beyond the rated load of the equipment (see product nameplate).

2. Do not put your hands on the part of the device that is running.

3. When operating the system, always pay attention to the workpiece to be carried.

4. If you want to move the device, make sure that there are no people or obstacles in the moving aisle.

5. When the equipment is working, please do not lift the load-bearing workpiece above anyone.

6. Do not use the equipment to lift people, and no one is allowed to hang on the manipulator cantilever arm.

7. When the workpiece is in a suspended state on the manipulator, it is forbidden to leave it unattended.

8. Do not weld or cut the suspended load-bearing workpiece.

What we need to pay attention to when using the robotic arm:

One: load

The load of the robotic arm refers to the total weight of the special tools such as clamps, holders, and suction cup holders together with the weight of the product. In the selection of the rotary arm manipulator, special attention should be paid to the weight of the product fixture not to exceed 80% of the machine parameters, otherwise, the claw rotation group of the manipulator is easy to be damaged, affecting the service life of the machine. Therefore, not all injection molding machines can use the injection molding machine manipulator to pick up the product, and sometimes the side pick-up robotic arm is required.

Two: Horizontal travel

The horizontal stroke of the robotic arm refers to the stroke in the horizontal direction of the robot. In the selection, the main consideration is whether the spacing between the machines is large enough, or whether there are special requirements, especially whether there is enough space between the two injection molding machines when the two manipulators are installed next to each other.

Three: arm stroke

The arm stroke of the manipulator refers to the displacement of the arm moving up and down. When selecting, it is important to pay attention to the fact that the arm has enough stroke to pick up the product. The following is the empirical formula for calculating arm stroke: arm stroke = center distance of injection molding machine template + heightened base + distance from the bottom of the arm to the bottom of the base + 50mm

The take-out time of the product refers to the cycle time of the robotic arm to take the product in the mold. This time varies depending on how the product is taken out. When selecting the model, the main consideration is whether the product has special requirements for the take-out time, if the take-out time is required to be very short, a robotic arm may be required.
